We are proud to present Anna Love, of Overland Park, KS. Mom, Paula McClary, shared some interesting facts about Anna: Anna was born Dec. 20, 2001 - sired by Bev's Bugsy Malone and Bev's Love Bug. So Anna came by her name partly from Paula's mom, JoAnne, and pug mom, Love Bug. Anna is originally from the Seattle area and moved to Kansas in 2007 so mom, Paula, could be nearer to relatives. Anna is a girl on the go -she loves to run and play with other pugs, going on walks, and loves crawling into laundry fresh and warm from the dryer! And her absolute favorite snack is chicken jerky! Dislikes include lightening and thunder - which Paula says has been an adjustment since moving to Kansas. Paula says Anna adores her pet sitter, Pat Ramm, of Grand Paws Pet Sitting Service. Pat visits, walks, and cuddles with Anna while Paula is at work. Paula also tells us that Anna accompanies her to visit Paula's mom at the assisted living facility. Anna brings a smile, warmth, and puggy kisses to many residents there! A note from PugSpeak: We had the pleasure of having Anna at our last Pug Parliament gathering last year. Anna is a joy and delight and we are proud to have Anna as May Pug of the Month! Thank you, Paula, for providing photos and sharing her story!

Victor Hugo's mom, Angela Nabuco, tells us his story: Back in 2001, we imported Am Ch Bowtie´s Oh No Mr Bill Live! from Pat Hicks of North Carolina and Bill´s first litter here was with our beloved Nabuco´s Betty Boop, the best girl in our kennel! Unfortunately Betty passed away in the c-section. It was a nightmare! I could not believe it was happening!! Victor was the only boy among the 3 puppies born. Our dear bitch Vivi, took care of the puppies for us. Vivi was still pregnant, but nursed Victor and her sisters. Since the beginning Victor was a stunning puppy and had a special love for me. We have many pugs at home, and most of them belong to all people in the house. But Victor belongs to me, or may be I belong to him! He has been to shows as a junior ( he is junior champion ) , but we stopped going to shows since 2002. Victor knows he is special for many ways! He is a wonderful stud dog, producing so many champions in his 6 years, among them the pug #2 in Brasil in 2007 and Multi BIS Brasilian Ch, Uruguai Ch Nabuco´s Ana Livia. Another daughter of Victor who made a lot of success is Multi BIS Nabuco´s Tequila, the puppy #1 in Mexico in 2007. Victor is the boss in our house for all the pugs. His pictures can tell about his personality, and how spoiled he is!!! He knows how important he is for me, the best souvenir Betty Boop could leave to us before passing the rainbow bridge. He is my beloved boy!!! A note from PugSpeak: Angela, thank you for sharing Victor's story. We are so happy to have this dear pug boy as PugSpeak's March Pug of the Month!

Meet Ruxby from San Antonio, Texas:
Ruxby came into our lives in March of 2007. The past 9 months with him in our family has truly been a blessing. Before Ruxby, we really didn't know much about Pugs. Now just the word PUG makes us happy. We will forever be crazy about PUGS! Ruxby's favorite things are: His Teddy Bear, Pig Ears, Dingo's and any kind of Hair Brush. Things he does that drives us crazy: He loves eating toilet paper or Kleenex, he likes to dig in the couch and lick the carpet and last but not least he likes to chase and box with our 13 year old Cat, Chester. Ruxby sleeps with us in a king size bed and he likes lots of room, He is a very friendly dog and likes everyone he has ever encountered. In his free time he loves to play fetch, go on car rides, lay out by the pool and get his belly scratched. His birthday is December 9th and he will be 1 year old. We love Ruxby so much! We now know why PUGS are so cherished as pets. A note from PugSpeak: Thank you Meridith! We love having Ruxby! And have a wonderful birthday!

PugSpeak is pleased to announce October's Pug of the Month, Buster Baby Pants of Michigan. Mom, Monica Amante, tells us Buster's story:
Buster is a 5 and a half year old Pug who came into my life when he just turned one. He is a full breed Pug and was purchased for stud services. When the owners tried to register him, they were told it was too late to turn in the paperwork and he could not get registered to breed until the following year. So, he never was used for breeding purposes. The rescuer had Buster neutered and told me he was very needy, most likely because Buster was neglected his first year of life. He mostly lived in a cage and had no love and attention. I was not a "dog person" per se, however, Buster changed everything. He quickly became my very best friend.
Buster has a knack for making people smile and laugh. He is a very special little Pug. I work for a commercial contractor and have a home office. Buster is by my side all day, even when I go to the job sites. He goes boating, shopping, walking in the stroller, and to many other places with me. Friends have come to expect that wherever I am, the Pug is with me. He quickly becomes the center of attention. Buster has a sweet little face and behaves so well. And, when he smiles it just tickles everyone around. Buster has visited nursing homes and the elders wait with anticipation when they know he will be there.
His veterinarian has told me Buster believes he is a human and may think he is my child. Whatever the case, He has a knack for making people feel good. I spend more time getting stopped and answering questions about how he learned to have such a wonderful, sweet, calm disposition. I simply explain that Buster is just a special little Dog and he knows it. We get many laughs when telling people his full name.. Buster Baby Pants. I joke that Buster gets embarrassed when I tell people his middle name. When people respond with laughter, he just smiles from ear to ear. And, they always tell me. '" look at him, he knows what you're saying." My Boyfriend teases me all the time about how much I love and spoil Buster. I don't think I am crazy, just bitten with the love of my Pug and I guess you could say I am now "Forever Pugged." And, my boyfriend and friends knows loving me, means loving and accepting my very special Pug too.
Pugs and all other dogs deserve a good caring home. Being a pet owner is a responsibility. People fall in love with puppies, take them home and realize they need a lot of time and attention. I know my Buster was a very lonely, neglected animal and it saddens me. Dogs can give their owners much companionship and unconditional love. But, they need that too. and, if One does not have the time or patience to work with an animal, they should not take them on. Because most of them are not as fortunate as Buster and end up in some very bad situations. Please remember to be a responsible pet owner. Get your dog spayed or neutered and give them proper training and love. The rewards are unbelievable!
Thanks so much Monica and Buster!
